Inventory Control Coordinator

COMPANY

Mercury Paper is a tissue converting company with affiliated plant and warehouses in Virginia. Since 2010, Mercury has steadily grown in the away from home (AFH), retail private label (PL) and retail branded (FIORA) sales channels.

JOB PURPORSE

This position ensures the integrity and reliability of material transactions throughout Distribution, as well as tracks and maintains inventory accuracy by analyzing inventory movement and work orders and researching inventory discrepancies. The position is also responsible for the buy/sell function for all Mercury warehouses, consolidating bins and supports month-end closings and annual physical inventory count for all product located in Winchester and Strasburg.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work orders and material for accuracy.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile book to floor inventories.
  • Research and verify inventory discrepancies, document adjustments with Accounting and report findings to appropriate managers.
  • Make adjustments, as needed.
  • Complete intercompany, buy/sell transactions.
  • Performs data entry.
  • Disassemble license plates as required.
  • Reviews bins counts for accuracy and consolidates daily
  • Work with Production and PPIC to ensure accurate reporting and month-end closing preparations are ready.
  • Utilize SAP for reporting, inventory count sheets, buy/sell function, pull-kitting research for error tracking, warehouse moves and histories.
  • Other duties as assigned

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of associates and management in our Planning, Distribution and Raw Materials, Accounting and Plant Operations departments.

External

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Background:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Some college and/or business seminars a plus
  • Hands-on experience working with work orders in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience creating Excel spreadsheets, entering data and utilizing basic formulas
  • Cycle count experience in an ABC environment
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Two years, manufacturing or warehouse inventory control preferred
  • Experience working with production, planning and accounting preferred
  • College work may substitute for some work experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Read, write and communicate in the English language
  • Must be flexible to work hours as required and may work 3 – 11 p.m., as needed
  • Must be able to work 8 – 10 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to sit, bend, stand and walk during scheduled shift.
  • Perform month-end closing process on weekends and holidays when closing falls on either
  • Readily accept new assignments as assigned by Supervisor
  • Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the department/ business.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • May travel to multiple locations
